- Intelligent and active; many can be trained to run to markers on a show table.
- Weekly grooming during molting prevents tricolor pattern from appearing dull.
- Doe-buck ratio 8:1 standard for this exhibition breed.
- Difficult tricolour selection — only ~30% of kits show the standard pattern.
